NENU DEVI

Nenu Devi is from a simple, traditional, and hard-working family. She was born and raised in the village of Jojdi ki Dhani, Barmer, and her everyday life was characterised by difficult treks through the blazing Thar desert, where she would go kilometres to seek water while carrying a matka on her head. She would go back to a gloomy house without the conveniences of electricity or even basic sanitary facilities.

Today, Nenu Devi shows off her beautiful handcrafted products while navigating the lively displays of Kutchh, Gujarat.

Ruma Devi was the driving force behind this transformation. During a life-changing field trip to her village, she taught Nenu Devi the craft of appliqué. Since then, Nenu Devi has given her all to her profession and has been working hard on GVCS projects each month. She has refined her stitching abilities in just five years, becoming a creative designer and skilled fair and exhibition negotiator.

Nenu Devi is a constant source of inspiration and motivation for all the ladies in our GVCS family. She exemplifies the boundless potential that every woman possesses with her steadfast spirit.
